We ranked all double letter combinations by frequency across 14,855 five-letter words. OO appears most often with 288 double-letter instances. Common examples include BLOOD, BLOOM, and BOOST. Across the full dataset, consonant doubles still outnumber vowel doubles overall.

There are 1741 five-letter words with adjacent double letters. Of those, 343 are Wordle answers — words with doubles are structurally trickier because repeated letters reveal less new information than a five-unique-letter guess.
